Spring is coming!

I proudly present: Spring is coming! This is the new painting I was talking about in my latest post. It was a big project: very high resolution (you can basically print it on your wall :), loads of detail and I sat more than two weeks with it from first draft to finish.
An early day in spring: The snow is slowly being melted away by the first warm rays of the sun, snowbells and crocus flowers are starting to bloom, the forest animals are playful and happy that a long winter finally comes to an end.

A Winter Tale

Winter is coming… and with it comes a new painting: A Winter Tale. You find a making of with progress steps and a short video on behance

The Making of an Illustration for a Parallax Scene

In April 2014 the app ‘Windy’ was released for which I did the artwork (8 illustrations so far). All illustrations are featured as motion controlled 3D-like Parallax scenes along with stereoscopic 3D wind recordings. Since some people wondered how I created the illustrations for it, I compiled a few progress steps and made a video which shows how I did the scene ‘A new Awakening’ and how it builts up as a parallax.

My Wolf and Squirrel featured in ImagineFX

Check this out. The May 2014 issue of ImagineFX magazine (Issue 108) will feature four of my works (p. 12-13). Wow, I am happy right now. 🙂

Tales of the Fireflies

It has been a while since my last post but today I present you a new picture I worked on the last couple of days. I wanted a fourth piece for the series of the wolf and the squirrel which acknowledges the already existing pictures. In this regard I wanted to show a landscape with close resemblance to the one I created in ‘Summer Rain’, so that the viewer would get the feeling that he or she had been there before.

Faster!

This painting is kind of a follow up of ‘Want a Nut?’.

‘Want a Nut?’

How would you react if a squirrel would offer you an acorn?
