Forest environments are a particularly difficult subject – I experienced this not only to be true for painting but also for photography. The challenge is to guide the eye through the chaos, to find a clear focus and a frame.
This artwork helped me tremendously to figure out some guidelines for myself that would help me to tackle this subject with more confidence in future work.

The gallery above also includes two previous versions. The first one being very consistent with the final, mainly differing in readability and mood the second one a bit too clear, too defined, therefore lacking realism.
